Can you believe it blogging two days in a row!!! :D

Yesterday we got a late start. We got sleep in til 8:30, went to Edirisa for breakfast/lunch and got to connect to home alittle. Vicki and Kayla had a giant somosa, Leah had a honey and banana 'pancake', Cami had pizza and loved it, Gianna had a veggie omelette that was alright. Everyone got a pineapple juice and we are all in love with it!!....Cami wonders how they juice the pineapples, but thats for another time....The guys had a successful day at the farm and are glad that it works! Praise Jesus!! The girls, Hellen, Mouda and Rick went to the African craft store and loaded up on souvenirs and gifts. :D Hellen was overwhelmed wiht all of her new gifts. Afterwards we went to the African market. That was an interesting experience. The market was hectic: people everywhere and food all over. They call peanuts, geenuts and they are also alot smaller than ours. We all thought that was funny. While Vicki was taking pictures some man asked if he could someday see the pictures in magazine. He was very upset when we told him they were just to show our family. lol Leah ran into some technical difficulties with her skirt, but the Ugandans were happy to help her out. OMG We forgot to tell you...On our way to the market a bus full of muzungus threw a piece of paper at us. They shouted to read it. This is what is said: Hello Ladies! I never expected to find such beauty in Africa. Oasis guys. We also got a phone number! We all got a good laugh! Back to the market...We picked up a years supply of food for Hellen's family and we brought it back to the village. They were extremely thankful. We also played soccer and jump rope with her little cousins.
We should fill you in alittle on how we got around yesterday...a van. It was a very hot van that was suppose to fit 7, but had at least 9 in it at all times. It was sweltering (the vocab word of the day) to say the least.
Last night was a chill night. Some of the girls and Dave went back to the Edirisa for more pineapple juice. Darin, Rick, Eric, Levi, and Gordon went to Jenny's, Mouda's sister for tea. Cami and Kayla stayed back at the White Horse and watched Madagascar. Towards the endof the evening all the guys played pool and the girls made music videos that will forever stay in Africa. ;D
Today we are probably going back to the orphanage and possibly the school. Tonight is the sponsored kids' dinner.

Well hate to run, but we have to go!! TTYL

LOVE YOU ALL AND MISS YOU LOTS!!!!

Dont forget to comment! :D

  3. G! I can't believe your mom has been holding out on the pineapple juice! It's probably better in Africa though... Frank is looking forward to you coming home and helping him irrigate! Just kidding, he won't put you
through it again, but he does have a huge appreciation for what you all are doing. Sending love and prayers your way!

  4. Keep up the good work! Enjoy this last week because it will be over before you know it! Here is a great quote/thought from Shawnie: "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift, that is why they call it the present." Love you

  5. Hey Victoria! Mom and I are so proud of the work you are doing and the joy we know you bring with it. I am missing you so much. Regarding those music videos...someone needs to sneak it out so we can view them here at home :)~ I'm so looking forward to having my SG home and hearing all about your time in Uganda. So many have heard of your work now since I can't keep my mouth shut about it. The work that all the team is doing is exciting to hear and will make such a tremendous difference in the lives of those at KTC. It's a lasting work that you do. We continue to pray for you and the team. I love you SG...Daddy
